BIDDING:

All bidding is final and unable to be removed. If you are the winner of the item, you are required to purchase it.

This auction has pre-bidding available. The catalogue is live once published and open for pre-bidding online. Buyers can place bids at anytime before the lot is offered at auction, and our auction software bids on your behalf up to your maximum bid.

BUYERS PREMIUM:

A buyers premium of 17.6% (inc GST) is added to your winning bid amount.

PAYMENT:

Payment is required within 24 hours of the completion of the auction.

We accept:
- Cash
- Credit Cards – Visa and Master Card (plus surcharge of 1%)
- Telephone payment or online EFT
- Cheques at the discretion of management (personal cheques supported by I.D.)

COLLECTION:

You are required to collect your purchases by 6pm Wednesday following the auction.

A storage fee of $10 per day/per lot will be charged for late collections unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon by management.

REFUND POLICY:

Lots will be listed and photographed as accurately as possible.

Items listed as A/F mean that the items have faults or are as found. When items are listed as A/F, the onus is on the buyer to request a condition report for more information on the damage.

All items listed at auction are secondhand or antique, therefore may have wear and tear consistent with age. We recommend viewing or asking for a condition report previous to purchasing to guarantee your satisfaction with the item.

If discrepancy arises, it is up to Auctioneers discretion if a refund is possible.

Group lots (listed as: assortment, group, mixed, sundry or quantity) are not checked over for condition and are therefore sold as found.

No refunds are offered on group lots or lots marked as A/F.

We do not check electrical or mechanical items. They are sold as is.

Once the item has been picked up and removed from our auction rooms, a refund is no longer possible (exceptions for interstate buyers).

Refund requests must be done within 24 hours of purchase.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

A credit card is required to complete the registration process for online bidding.

Your credit card will be charged with your purchases only after 3 business days if payment has not been received and/or you have no organised payment previously with us.

Your credit card will NOT be charged if you make payment within 3 business days, or previous arrangements made.

PRE-BIDDING

All online bidding before the lot is offered by the auctioneer is considered pre-bidding.

Pre-bidding is the same as absentee bidding, where you leave your maximum bid amount. The bidding will still progress in standard increments, where the item may sell at your maximum bid, with you being the under-bidder.

Example:
Your maximum bid is $30, with the starting price being $25. We take your the bid at $25, and another buyer bids against you at $30.

JEWELLERY AUCTION SALES TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Third-Party Valuation: The auction house may provide a third-party valuation report from a recognized jeweller or gemologist, which offers an assessment of the jewellery’s quality, authenticity, and market value.

2. Disclosure of Valuation: The auction house must clearly disclose that the valuation is provided for informational purposes only and does not guarantee the item’s sale price or authenticity.

3. Limitations of Valuation: The conditions may state that the auction house is not responsible for discrepancies between the third-party valuation and the final hammer price. Bidders should perform their own due diligence.

4. Condition of Items: The auction house should specify that the jewellery is sold “as is,” and the condition described in the valuation may not necessarily reflect the actual condition at the time of sale.

5. Authenticity Guarantees: If the valuation includes statements about authenticity, the auction house may provide a guarantee for that authenticity, but this is often limited to the extent of the report provided.

6. Potential Conflicts: The conditions may outline that if there are conflicting opinions on the valuation or authenticity, the auction house reserves the right to make the final determination.

7. Buyer’s Responsibility: Bidders are usually reminded that it is their responsibility to inspect the jewellery and consider the valuation alongside their own judgment before placing bids.

8. Return Policy: If a buyer believes that an item does not match the third-party valuation, the auction house may specify the process for returns or disputes, including any timelines and conditions under which returns are accepted.

9. Legal Compliance: The auction house may require that all third-party valuations comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.

10. Governing Terms: The conditions may specify that any disputes related to the third-party valuation, including its accuracy or implications, will be subject to the auction house’s terms of sale and applicable laws.
