THE JUDITH BROWN COLLECTION
Fine Antique Furniture, Paintings & Prints, Persian Hand Woven Carpets, and Antique Decor
Judith Brown started collecting long before gaining recognition as an author of South Australian history, making her first purchase at the age of 13. From then she took every opportunity to add to her collection, with a number of her favourite antique pieces being gifts to or from her husband to mark special occasions. Many a smaller item also accompanied her home as hand luggage from interstate, England or Europe. Judith served on the committee of the Antique Collectors’ Society during the 1970’s, when she also wrote her first historical book, “The Almonds”, bringing to life the then 125-year story of her cherished home for almost two decades. Over the decades Judith’s love of antiques has accompanied her passion for history and historical houses, and she has enjoyed nothing more than living among old walls, entertaining at home and making full use of her treasured pieces, with a selection now being offered spanning the 19th and 20th centuries
